There is a way to find or delimit the outer contour of a 2d design obtained from a dxf file.
We need to distinguish the holes and castings of a design from their outer contour since when we load a dxf the entities appear apparently without order we first need to process everything that is "inside" the design and lastly the contour that defines the part

Hi,

If an outer contour is the largest object in your file you can try to identify it by size/length. This solution might not be applicable to all cases however so we would ask you to give us a particular file sample with the contour you'd like to identify. We'll then try to provide you a more detailed instruction based on this file
