I am working on a project where I am reviewing, redlining and reporting on 367 PLT files. It is this project that introduced me to ABViewer and I am so impressed that I am planning on buying licenses for all our non-Engineering staff and for my reviewing Engineering staff!

Whenever I open a PLT file from this set, the image is upside down. I rotate it, add and save redlines. When I reopen, the image and redlines are upside down, as I would expect. But, if I save the rotated image as DXF, when I reopen it, it is still upside down.

Is there any way for the PLT file to open with the correct orientation? I don't really want to save in another format. I can provide a sample drawing, if desired.

The Save As PDF is a nice feature, but we'd need some more controls like paper size, margins and scaling for it to be useful. We have Acrobat Distiller, so for us it's not a big issue.

But, sometimes we get drawings in PDF format and I'd love to be able to redline them or save as DXF!

This program just keeps getting better!

While looking for how to configure the default opening parameters, I noticed the 'Rotate HPGL by Angle', and it works!

There was a notice that Redlining and Distance does not work with it. As far as I can tell, Redlining worked properly. But Distance showed X and Y as negative - hardly a problem!

As you mentioned above ABViewer allows loading HPGL files rotated by predefined angle. This option is available by the following way:
<ul><li>Select <b>Tools > Options</b> menu item.</li>
<li>Select <b>Visualization</b> tab on the arisen <b>Options</b> dialog box.</li>
<li>Set on option <b>When opening rotate HPGL drawing by angle</b> and set <b>180</b> value in the <b>degrees</b> edit box.</li></ul>

<b>Distance</b> window, which appears near mouse cursor, contains the following info:
<ul><li>Distance - distance between two points.</li>
<li>Angle in XY Plain - angle value between vector of the specified line and X axis in the XY plain.</li>
<li>Angle in XY Plain - angle value between vector of the specified line and the XY plain.</li>
<li>Delta X is a value of the vector's projection on axis X as if vector was started from the beginning of the co-ordinates and has a length equal to the Distance.</li>
<li>Delta Y is a value of the vector's projection on axis Y as if vector was started from the beginning of the co-ordinates and has a length equal to the Distance.</li>
<li>Delta Z is a value of the vector's projection on axis Z as if vector was started from the beginning of the co-ordinates and has a length equal to the Distance.</li>
<li>Set size as: - this option is very useful in custom drawings or CAD files without measuring marks. For instance, there is a rectangle with Height grater Width in two times. We measure it's height and set it's length equal 100 in the <b>Set size as:</b>. After that we measure it's Width and get <b>Distance=50</b>. The same way all the others measurements will be calculated respectively to the entered value factor.</li></ul>
Thus <b>Distance</b> may give negative <b>Delta</b> parameter. It depends on direction of the measurement.
