DWG-View in XnView

I use cadview for TC and today I installed cs_dwg.dll for XnView for testing.

But now I am a little bit confused: It seem that I can only see the integrated bitmap (or something else ...). When I zoom into the drawing I can see that there is no vector display, only raster ...

Why?

Hello Peter,

In the current situation CADSoftTools products does not convert raster images in to vector format. We show embedded raster images as they are - like raster images.

"Convert raster to vector"??? Showing original DWG need no conversion ...

So you display on DWGs only the small embedded bitmap?

What do you mean under "integrated bitmap" and "no vector display"?

OK, back to the beginning ...

a) I use Cadview for Total Commander and there I have full vector functionality. I can zoom very near and very far, I have layer functions and so on - "full vector functions"

b) Last week I tried CS_dwg.dll in XnView - and found no vector functions. When I zoomed in I get only bad resolution of raster pictures, and I see that the picture is no vector display.

c) Question:
What is the function of cs_dwg.dll for XnView? Should it display the real vector data (so that I can zoom in very close ..)? Or does it only display the embedded preview-thumbnail of DWG?

XnView views DWG files using CS_DWG.DLL. XnView views DWG files like raster images. This is just the way it works. To make resolution higher CS_Manager must be used. It is available in the same package with CS_DWG.DLL or at the following link: http://www.cadsofttools.com/download/cs_manager.zip
CS_Manager has "Maximum Width or Height Drawing" option. The bigger value is set the better resolution they get.

In my drawings I use black background, and I need that background in XnView too.

How to set it?
